Nara Belghast

My human girl from my friend's D&D campaign. She worked as a delivery girl for her parents' shop, "Smaller than a Breadbox," which sells fresh pastries (baked mostly by her dad) and jewelry (made mostly by her mother). Once she reached age 23, she felt that magic was her true calling in life, so she set out for the mage's college in the big city, against her parents' wishes. Once there, she studied for 5 years to learn her craft, and nearly graduated. 

In preparation for the final examinations for a tough batch of classes, her and 3 fellow students took advantage of their free time to practice spells in one of the abandoned classrooms. One day while practicing, a student grossly misfired a flame rune, which exploded and caught the whole room ablaze. Nara is the only one who made it out alive, though not without cost; the flames burned away all of her hair, and only wisps of black locks grow back sporadically from time to time. Additionally, a flaming beam fell and nearly crushed her, and left her with severe burn scars on the left side of her body. 

After the incident, with only Nara's word on what happened, she was expelled from the college. She spent the next year idly wandering the land, never returning home because she knew her parents would only use her expulsion as justification for not wanting her to learn magic in the first place. The campaign begins right after she - along with 3 other brave adventurers - are kidnapped by a group of pirates and sold to demonic cultists.
