Katherine Bern

Another human girl from my other friend's D&D campaign. Katherine has always been a difficult person to get along with; she's always felt like people are annoying and generally acts pissed off, no matter who she is talking to, be it a family friend or the queen of the kingdom. It can't be said for certain, but this is probably because her parents never treated her kindly. Her mother never wanted children, and while her father was generally open to the idea, he tends to side with his wife on all issues, generally making it impossible for Katherine to have a voice in the family. 

When she was 15, her and her parents were visiting the grand city of Starport, and visited the local church of Misol, the God of Light. When the head priest saw Katherine, he immediately noticed the birthmark on the back of her left hand, which was shaped nearly perfectly like the symbol of Misol. He took this as a sign, and asked Katherine to join the church, because he firmly believed Misol had selected her for a great task. Her mother was more than happy to be rid of her (and Katherine was pretty happy to leave her parents), thus Katherine was left in the care of the church to be trained as a holy cleric of light. 

Despite being a cleric, her personality was slow to change. She continued to be a general asshole to anyone who walked through the doors for the first few months, but as her fellow clergy grew on her, she mellowed. Her personality turned from pissy to flirty, and generally hits on anyone with a pulse, but with a preference on elves (especially female elves). In battle however, her rage returns, and she fights fiercely with a combination of hammers and light-magic. She is still easy to anger, and has trouble getting along with people. She is 17 now, but claims to be 18 if anyone asks her.
